Professional Experience

Cristina has 34 years of experience serving clients, with 25 years in the legal industry focusing on corporate transactions, legal strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and advising clients on the social aspects of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), specifically Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

In the first 10 years of her career in the hospitality industry, she specialized in business development and client acquisition for hotels. As Corporate Sales Director, she developed the consortium sales area, leading to increased sales volume.

Cristina provides legal guidance to foreign entities entering the Mexican market, particularly in developing strategies for establishing operations in Mexico and implementing them from a legal perspective, coordinating areas such as tax, labor, trade, environmental law, and intellectual property.

She also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, daily business operations, and, when necessary, closing transactions in Mexico. Additionally, she assists clients in coordinating their operations in other jurisdictions and provides counsel on antitrust matters.

Cristina founded and led the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at Sánchez-DeVanny Eseverri, S.C., implementing impactful internal and external initiatives. She is an active member of AbogadasMX and has collaborated on projects such as the UN Women initiative to create Minimum Standards for Inclusion and Diversity in Mexican law firms. Her involvement in these initiatives has enabled her to provide legal counsel on DEI strategy design and implementation for companies.

She also established the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Group at Sánchez-DeVanny Eseverri, S.C., focusing on the social aspect of ESG, particularly DEI.

Cristina represented Sánchez-DeVanny Eseverri, S.C. in the SCG Legal network since 2006, a global alliance of law firms recognized by Chambers & Partners Global as the world's leading legal network. From 2017 to 2022, she served on the Board of Directors, working on initiatives to strengthen female leadership in member firms and support the organization's strategic management and actions.
